EVA Boat Flooring Cleaning Guide

For most general cleaning purposes, warm soapy water and a medium bristle brush will be effective.

Work the soapy water into the dirty areas until the dirt lifts then rinse off with clean water. Repeat if necessary.

Work a commercial general-purpose cleaner or degreaser into the stain using warm water and a medium bristle brush. Rinse off with clean water.

Repeat if needed.

Apply a small amount of vinegar to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes.

You may need to work the cleaner into the stain with some gentle brushing. Rinse with clean water. Repeat if necessary.

To remove blood and other really stubborn stains, dilute one cup of bleach in a bucket (4L) of warm water.

Using a soft bristled brush, gently work the stain with a circular motion. Rinse off with clean water.

Repeat if necessary. You may want to do a test clean for colourfastness on an inconspicuous area first.

Wear rubber gloves when handling any cleaning products (and eye protection if using bleach).

If you need to use strong chemicals such as bleach or acetone, then avoid using them near the Trideck Flooring edges or allow them to contact the adhesive because they may damage the EVA laminations or bonding.

Clean up spills and stains as quickly as possible. They will be easier to deal with and you’ll generally get better results.

There are some cleaning products that you should not use.

These include:

  • Car wash and wax type products;
  • Citrus cleaners that leave a protective coating;
  • Aggressive chemical cleaners and solvents;
  • Strong acid-based cleaners.

The use of unapproved cleaning materials or cleaning methods may void your warranty cover.

Please dispose of cleaning solutions responsibly. Do not wash cleaning solutions into drains or waterways as these chemicals may be toxic to fish and other aquatic life.
